When Ocean Orthodontics needed to hire a practice manager for their busy office, they knew not just anyone could successfully lead and manage their large team. They partnered with Goldbeck to help find them a candidate that could seamlessly step into the role. Recruiter Jessica Miles didn’t hesitate to take on this search and find them what they were looking for.
The client wanted to be able to focus on their orthodontic work itself and have the practice manager be in charge of everything outside of that. In this regard, it was important for the candidate to have a strong operational and financial background. The ability to navigate workplace relationships was crucial and experience in the medical world was non negotiable. That being said, the client was open to candidates from a non dental background, which is not always the case. This greatly opened up the number of leaders that could be considered for the role.
In Jessica’s search, she looked for individuals both inside and outside of the dental community, but found success with a newcomer to the orthodontics industry. Regardless, this candidate was a strong leader with extensive experience. Most recently she had managed a diagnostic centre, but had also previously managed a medical imaging clinic as well as worked in dermatology. Her people management, financial and strategic experience made her the ideal candidate and she was indeed hired. Opening up the search to candidates with similar, but different backgrounds can be instrumental in finding that hidden talent.
